Yo La Tengo - Green Arrow

Posted on | August 16, 2009 |

Yo La Tengo is one of my favorite bands. They have been playing the Indie Rock scene since 1984 when the band formed in Hoboken, NJ. That says a lot about a band - especially on the Indie Rock scene. Yo La Tengo does a lot of experimenting with sound and they are no strangers to vocal-less tracks.

The song Green Arrow appears on the eclectic album I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One. The funny thing about I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One is that it explores Yo La Tengo’s talent as songwriters and lyricists. It would only be fitting that my favorite Yo La Tengo song, Green Arrow, would appear on this album. Green Arrow is a vocal-less song that says more than any other vocal track on the album.

It’s a song you play with the lights off and when nobody is around. I’m not sure what Yo La Tengo’s  Green Arrow will remind you off but it reminds me of a lot of things. It’s says so much without saying anything at all. Yo La Tengo’s  Green Arrow is a great song.
