Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza located Downtown San Diego, right next to the Horton Plaza parking garage, is a very solid, can’t-miss, you-know-what-you’re-gonna-get kind of place. Although a chain, Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza has very good pizza, appetizers and a good atmosphere. The downtown location is not conducive to watching the game, but it’s a good date spot with solid ambiance. The edamame at Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza is a must-order appetizer.
Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza offers a very wide range of pizza options that are sure to please any taste. Unfortunately, on a semi-related note, I have to dock Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza a few points for having a web site that plays music automatically - terrible. Web site aside, Sammy’s has good pizza and even ranks in my top 5 favorite pizzas in San Diego.
Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza has an OK selection of draft beers including a few local brews. Definitely check out Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza downtown San Diego and afterward cruise around Gas Lamp for a few drinks or too. Sammy’s has very solid pizza - just don’t log on to their web site.
