Here’s how to the Microsoft Format Painter:
1. Select the text or graphic that has the formatting that you want to copy.
2. On the Standard toolbar, click Format Painter. The pointer changes to a paintbrush icon.
3. Click the text or graphic that you want to format (either in the current document or another one that is open). If you apply formatting to more than one block of text or graphic, select each of them, one at a time.
Notes
For graphics, the Format Painter works best with drawing objects, such as AutoShapes. However, you can copy formatting from a picture (such as the picture’s border) as long as the wrapping style of the picture is set to something other than In Line With Text (on the Drawing toolbar, click Draw, and then point to Text Wrapping).
