Fix for Blank TweetDeck
Posted on | August 12, 2009 |
The Problem:
When opening TweetDeck the screen is blank and settings cannot be clicked (when trying to click on settings button nothing happens). The buttons to the left side of the application are clickable; however, it says no account is selected but there are no accounts to select from and nothing happens when clicking the settings button so an account cannot be added.
The Resolution:
A simple re-install of Adobe Air and TweetDeck seems like the obvious resolution but this does not resolve the issue. It turns out the issue lies with some temporary files located under the user’s Profile.
Follow these instructions to resolve the issue:
1. Go to C:Documents and Settings<user’s profile>Application Data
2. Find the folder TweetDeckFast.(followed by a long alphanumeric sequence) and delete this folder
3. Go to C:Documents and Settings<user’s profile>Application DataAdobe
4. Find the folder “AIR” and delete this folder
5. Run TweetDeck
6. You will reinstall Adobe Air during the startup process
7. Log into your Twitter account and all the tweets will come pouring in!
