The Controller is a comic book villain from the Marvel Comic Universe is ranked #100 in our list of The 100 Best Marvel Villains Ever.
Crippled in a lab accident while working for Cord Industries (one of Stark Industries’ main rivals), scientist Basil Sandhurst built himself an exoskeleton powered by mental energy.
By placing a slave disc on a victim’s head or neck, Sandhurst could direct that person’s actions and leech their brain power to charge up his suit. Continue Reading

TheDailyContributor.com embarked on an epic journey to create a list of the best Marvel villains ever. The initial idea was to come up with a top 10 list. A top 10 list was quickly thrown away because limiting this list to 10 would be an injustice.
The top 10 transitioned to a top 25…then to a top 50, then it was clear a top 100 was needed due to the sheer number of villains to chose from. Marvel villains are epic and we needed to create a list equally epic.
The Marvel comic universe is quite expansive and it was extremely difficult to come up with a top 100. This list is not perfect – lists never are – but we hope the reception is warm because we love comics just as much as you.

Florence Welch is London’s latest gift to music. With her band, indie pop newcomers Florence and the Machine, Florence released her debut album during Summer 2009. The first single off the album, “A Kiss With A Fist (Is Better Than None)” is a short, hipshaking song that is a great addition to any party playlist.
Despite its misleading lyrics, Welch has explained that the inspiration behind the song is not experience with domestic violence, but rather a crazy couple she knew at the time she wrote it: Continue Reading

When one navigates the boundless regions of Craigslist, you’re bound to unearth a few gems. Whether it’s some guy in El Paso giving away free dirt or a male teenager in Duluth searching for 6 female roommates, Craigslist has it all. You want an ‘86 RV? A set of lawn chairs? Tennis lessons? Do you want to meet up during lunch? Anything you want, Craigslist has it.
One of my personal favorite sections on Craigslist is the Rants and Raves section. Here, users can vent to the Craigslist community about anything they’d like. Today we travel to Craigslist San Diego. San diego craigslist > city of san diego > personals > rants & raves:
Let’s take a look at the Craigslist Rant of the day: Continue Reading

As a now very-casual fan of The Disco Biscuits, I was pretty excited to see them play after a few years hiatus. The Biscuits came down to San Diego as part of their 2009 West-Coast run and played Downtown at 4th & B right across the street from my favorite bar, The Local.
Every other time I saw The Biscuits play was on the West Coast in extremely packed, sweating venues.4th & B was probably around 60% full and there was plenty of room to dance, if that was your thing (and it was for many). Continue Reading

Christian Siriano is best known for his season four win on Project Runway and his over use of the word “fierce.” His designs represent young luxury and often have an avant-garde influence.
Following his win, his collections have been universally beautiful and a clear example of the relationship between artwork and fashion. His recent launch of a footwear and bag collection for the discount outlet Payless ShoeSource offers the same design aesthetic for deeply discounted prices. Here are some of my favorites from his shoe collection. Continue Reading

Thank God the weekend is over and Thank God all the Philadelphia Eagles fans have left San Diego. Now, for you Philadelphia Eagles fans out there you’re probably thinking, “Oh Yeah! We really made an impression! We are HARD CORE fans!” Well, the reality of the situation is you lived up to your repugnant reputation as the worst fans in sports and I hope none of you ever return to my city. Stay home.
First off, the 10,000+ Philadelphia Eagles fans who infested San Diego this past weekend refused to wear anything expect Philadelphia Eagles gear. While I completely respect supporting your team, did every single one of you need to wear an Eagles hat, an Eagles shirt, Eagles pants, Eagles shoes, and Eagles sunglasses to every single solitary establishment in San Diego for the entire weekend…even after your team lost? Ace Ventura: Pet Detective introduced the world to one of the mostmemorable movie characters of all time. Jim Carrey’s role as Ace Ventura certainly ranks right up there as one of the all time greatest movie characters for me right along side Jeff Bridges’ potrayel as The Dude. Ace Ventura is loaded with amazing quotes that can be used on a daily basis at your work place.
We at TheDailyContributor.com have taken it upon ourselves to provide you a working list of quotes for you to use at work. Now, if you aren’t familiar with this type of post you can look at some older posts about how to use quotes from Clueless, Spaceballs, My Cousin Vinny, and The Big Lebowski at work. Enjoy! Disney’s Aladdin is the latest entry to our list of the Best SNES Games Ever. Capcom’s 1993 Super Nintendo game Disney’s Aladdin is quite simply an incredibly fun game all around. The side-scrolling game is great because just about everyone loved the movie Aladdin and this was your chance to become Aladdin, ride the magic carpet, beat up bad guys with Abu, and jump around from rooftops.
Wikipedia notes that “the storyline more or less closely follows the plot of its namesake, the Disney full-length animated motion picture, with Aladdin going from a street rat to a prince, who first woos, and then has to rescue, the Princess Jasmine.” Continue Reading

The thing about Indie Rock is…well…it’s just…Indie Rock. All Indie Rock is created differently and Indie Rock is Indie Rock because it’s generally misunderstood by almost everyone except those who love the band - which is an attraction to the genre. There is no middle ground with these Indie Rock bands. You either absolutely love them, understand them, and worship them…or you turn it off.
Indie Rock fans are used to people asking them to play something that doesn’t suck. It comes with the territory that you simply won’t be able to turn all your friends on to the latest Ratatat album. But you still listen because you are fan, it’s what you do: Continue Reading

If you’ve ever attended the annual two-day Bamboozle music festival in New Jersey, you know the drill: the minute the official schedules come out you sit down with a pen and paper and try to find some way to make it to all the sets of your favorite bands.
Usually, you’re lucky if there’s downtime to grab some lunch, let alone check out sets for bands you may not have heard of. In 2008, I had only one empty slot to fill and at least five stages to choose from. It was upon a friend’s recommendation that I decided to go on a blind date with Automatic Loveletter. And (come on, you know it’s coming)… it was automatic love. Continue Reading

NBA Jam is the latest entry to our list of the Best SNES Games Ever. When Midway’s NBA Jam first came out in 1993 it took sports video games by storm. It was unlike any other basketball game because it moved away from the traditional dribble up and dribble down and implemented a unique arcade style game play that pretty much blew everyone’s mind the first time they played.
“The release of NBA Jam gave rise to a new genre of sports games which were based around action-packed game play,” says Wikipedia. Players could preform insane, never-seen-before-in-video-game dunks that made the entire room hoot and holler. Continue Reading
