Top 10 Office Supplies To Kill Yourself With

Posted on 31 October 2009 by nick

In the spirit of Halloween, we’re covering a rather ghastly, gruesome, and grotesque topic that would make Uncle Fester proud. TheDailyContributor.com apologizes in advance for anyone who finds this too insensitive or tasteless (the editor made me put that apology in, I don’t really apologize though).

However, it’s written in good spirit (if that’s possible) and is intended to be light-hearted and…funny. So I say to you, if you don’t want to read this, then don’t. But if you’re up for a killer laugh then read on: Continue Reading

The Streets | Belly Up Tavern, Solana Beach, CA

Posted on 30 October 2009 by lou

Belly Up Tavern is continually voted “San Diego’s Best Live Music Venue” by several publications including the Union Tribune, The Reader and San Diego Magazine as well as heralded as one of the hottest clubs on the west coast by Rolling Stone Magazine. All these praises are well deserved. Belly Up’s long history of bringing great live music is documented all throughout the tavern.

Previous artists posters are plastered all over the tavern’s walls. What you may not know is they are all original artwork. Scrojo is the artist behind the original posters and the posters can be purchased on Belly Up’s website. Posted on 30 October 2009 by nick

So, you’ve come to realization that you are just another cog in the wheel. You are indeed not special and you go to work every day living out somebody else’s dream. Well, although you are just another brick in the wall, don’t worry because you’re not alone.

However, it’s the things you encounter at work, on the way to work and on the way home from work that should drive you to laughter instead of insanity. Sadly enough there are people in the world who don’t understand that what turns their hair grey, should be turning their frown upside down. The reality of the situation is laughing things off at the workplace is your only option: Continue Reading

Awesome Craigslist Missed Connection From New York City

Posted on 29 October 2009 by nick

In regards to comedic value, the missed connections section of Craigslist is arguably the best section Craigslist has to offer. If anyone out there has used the missed connections section as a legimiate tool to find somebody they were in line with at Starbucks I want you to do me a favor. I want you to stand up, shut your monitor off, walk away and never log on to TheDailyContributor.com again. See you later! I don’t want you to come back here.

What gets me most from the missed connections section of Craigslist list if why do these people not approach whomever while they are standing right there? I understand it can be intimidating talking to a stranger, but you have a much better chance having something happen with them by putting yourself out there initially instead of a bazillion to one shot and posting something on Craigslist! There is one selection on the list that is controversial and some might consider to be a bit of a stretch. You should identify the selection once you see it. Let us know what you think: Continue Reading

Band Interview: Love Like Deloreans

Posted on 22 October 2009 by nick

If you’ve gone to bars or parties in Brooklyn you know that sweating profusely is inevitable. It’s so inescapable, in fact, that it probably deserves a ‘which-came-first-the-chicken-or-the-egg’ style debate: did American Apparel derive their scanty designs out of a demand for outfits that could survive these ungodly saunas or did Brooklynites adopt American Apparel uniforms because they were the only clothes that catered to their perspiration needs? The world may never know…

However, the sweat is a small sacrifice to make for the incomparable music scene. Night after night music lovers and hipsters alike brave the humid undergrounds to indulge in the local talent. Continue Reading
